Based in Amsterdam, C42X specializes in deep learning-based surrogate models for fusion control. Our goal is to build scalable models that autonomously optimize parameters for plasma challenges—increasing stability and energy gains.

These models are adaptable and designed to address a wide array of fusion plasma control problems, thus propelling technological advancements in fusion energy.

With over 15 years of expertise in developing machine learning-based institutions, Richard Kraaijenhagen leads C42X’s contributions to the DIII-D program. Our training dataset curated from the extensive DIII-D data archive is crucial for refining models that support the development of larger fusion reactors like ITER, helping to drive sustainable energy solutions.
